Below, you can download four complete DELF A1 sample papers. Even if the three firsts past exam papers are a little bit old, they correspond in every respect to the DELF A1 examinations. Indeed, the format, the kind of tests and the assessed level are the same. Only the graphics evolved: the layout and the presentation of exam papers were improved. So, the more recent exam papers are better looking and more pleasant, in particular at the level of the images, than these three firsts DELF A1 sample papers. You will see this by looking at the past exam papers number 4 below.​

Please note that the instruction of the 2nd exercise (exchanging information) of DELF A1 speaking test has changed. In the 3 past exams papers presented above, this instruction is: “A partir des cartes sur lesquelles figurent des mots, vous posez des questions à l’examinateur.” = “From the cards with words, you ask the examiner questions.”. As you will see in the more recent sample papers below, now the instruction is: “Vous voulez connaître l’examinateur. Vous lui posez des questions à l’aide des mots écrits sur les cartes.” = “You want to know the examiner. You ask him questions using the words written on the cards.”. In other words, your questions should be about the examiner: you want to know the examiner better. Although each exam subject is unique, it will give you a good idea of the type of subject you will have on the day of the exam.
